Of course, a cynic would point out that Annabel Croft, the previous British
winner, won only one senior title and never went beyond the third round of a
grand-slam tournament, but such observations should be saved for another
day. Let's hope that Laura Robson will go on to greater things and let's
bask in the glow of a British win at Wimbledon.
